Cybersmart #8

LI: to learn how to make animations with Google presentation.

For this cybersmart challenge we were tasked to make an animation using google presentation. For this animation we created a boat and a dolphin going through waves.

Space Jam

LI: To find the most efficient strategy to answer the question.

We were tasked to solve a maths group problem and create a DLO.     Problem:    You are in charge of organising opening night of the movie. Use the information below to help you organise the theatre.
Each of the 3 theatres can seat 150 people. Kids are $12.50 and adults are $15. Kids must come with an adult.
Find one way to fill the theatres and say how much would be earned.
    Solution:
 75 x 12.50 = 937.50

75 x 15 =  1125

1125 + 937.50 = 2062.50

2062.50 x 3 = 6187.50

2062.50
-------------------
2062.50 x 3  = 6187.50

2062.50
2062.50

4125.50 + 2062.50 = 6187.50

Sir Issac Newton

LI: To use your smart searching skills to find out who Sir Isaac Newton was and how his work connects to simple machine.

This week for reading we were given a collaborative task to find out what Sir Isaac Newton had to do with simple machines. We found out Who he is and why his work is important to him. In our DLO we added one simple machine he created called the Pulley. A simple machine is a machine that makes our lives easier.

Something I found interesting about Sir Isaac Newton was that Sir Isaac Newton's mum wanted him to be a farmer but he refused to be a farmer. I found this interesting because I didn't know his mum wanted him to be a farmer.

My favourite part of this activity was being able to work collabrativly because I got to find out their opinions and ideas during this activity.

Brochure

LI: To a collaborative brochure that tells others why Kokako Lodge is a great place to go on camp.

Over the last week everyone challenged themselves during the sessions at archery, high ropes, kayaking, raft building, camp cooking, pancake race and team building/orienteering. Our group collaborated to create a brochure that shows others why Kokako Lodge is a great place to go on camp.

I enjoyed this activity because we get to advertise about the camp site we went to.

Kokako Infographic

LI: To create an infographic using google draw that tells your audience facts about the kokako.

This week, everyone in LS2 has been given a set of different challenges based on our camp. For this activity we used our smart searching skills to find information about the North Island Kokako bird.

I enjoyed this activity becasue I got to learn new thing about the Kokako Bird.

Camp Collage

LI: To create a collage of your camp highlights

This week LS2 have been celebrating our camp. I created this collage to show my time at camp and the activities I enjoyed. To make my collage effective I thought about the size of the images, the angle of the images and I tried hard not to leave any gaps between the photos.

I enjoyed this activity because I could my memories from camp safe and I found it fun because I got to laugh at some of the photos that were took of me.

5 Minutes Of Camp

LI: To recount a 5 minute snapshot of one experience you had at camp

Fear I Overcame

“You got this!” says the voices coming from the outside, I took a big pause followed by a deep breath as  the harness went the three Os on harness turned into Cs, straight after the helmet went on, it made me feel a lot safer. But head started spinning, like a rollercoaster. The fear rose as I took a step on the ladder. Holding the ladder, someone I trusted, I looked forward, just kept taking steps on each rail.

As time goes faster my heart starts racing out of my chest, a pool starts to form in my eyes. The staples got me, I started pulling myself up, one by one I go. Everyone’s shouting “you got this.” I whispered to myself “yes!” as I reached the top. My eyes turned into a dessert. I heard someone say “now get on the beam.” I felt like I had a new friend, while I was hugging the pole.
I took a step on the beam, my legs started to tremble as my feet took steps, my fears started to shrink. My frown turned into a smile. While I'm walking like I'm on a plane, I'm saying “love this thing!”

While I was walking across I hit a pole. I hugged it and said “I love you, my hero!” And when I thought I was done the instructor said “run to the middle.” I felt clueless, but I did it anyway. I stood in the spot and said something embarrassing, “Hi world, I love you!”

The sun goes down, as it gets darker. I let one foot off and then the other. Right that second I thought I was flying, I was relieved I made it to the ground safely.  Suddenly the words out of my mouth said “I want to do it again.”

We created a recount givings a 5 minute recount what happend in camp. I chose to make a recount about what happened on the high beam or high rope. My recount explained what happend during the time and the emotions.

I found this activity fun because I got to express myself and enjoy what I did.
