Active Listenting

LI:To be a good listener and a good communicater

For Kiwi Can this week we were focusing on positive communication and active listening.
For the warm up game called Remote Control. When Mr Alapati yelled out stop, pause, rewind, play and fast forward. Stop means to freeze, pause means to jump, rewind means to  walk backwards, play means to walk forward and finally fast forward means to walk fast.
Next we went outside to play Chop Suey Salute In this game we had to listen really carefully. Mr Alapati would shout out numbers one to five. 1 meant to do 1 punch, 2 meant to do 2 punches, 3 meant to do 2 punches and 1 kick, 4 means to do the Haduken and lastly 5 means to do the upper cut.
I enjoyed all the games but I mostly enjoyed the Chop Suey Salute.

Music

LS1 was doing music with Mrs. Whaea Odie. We were learning the tunes and how to play with the instruments right. After all that we practiced how to play Call Away by Charlie Puth. We also did Shotgun.

We all had so much fun with all the instruments.

Writing

LI:To plan a write recount

To plan a recount LS1 got into groups and wrote about the number we got from our teacher. We wrote about what we knew about the number. Next we made individual plans for our holiday recount. In LS1 we use TREE for our writing. TREE stands for Title, Reveal, Events and Ending. That means when ever we write a story or recount we us TREE.

The graphs we made were: who has pets, amount of siblings, favourite subject, holiday activities, birthdays, and languages. We had to do one of them as a group then make one ourselves.

Kiwi Can

LS1 is learning to be positive .
In Kiwi Can our theme was positive relationships & the topic is positive communication. Next Alapati and Mrs Padge the leaders taught us how to play a warm up game called eyes up & down. When the leaders said eyes down you have to look down. When they say eyes up you have to stare at a person , & if they stare back at you you lose.
We went outside to play Midnight Tunnel , Jokies up & GKQ. At first we played Midnight Tunnel then then Jokies up and finally GKQ.
