Kiwi Can

LI: to learn what Resilience is.
We started Kiwi Can with the energiser. Our Topic was resilience. Our energiser was called, how do you feel. Then we went through the emotions on what people could feel. Then we played an activity called emotion shreds.

Key words

LI: to find key words about our topic.
For cyber smart we had to find key words about our topic. Our topic was about komodo dragons, and we had to find the answers to our questions. We had to copy and paste the answers then high-light the key words.

MOTAT

LI: to learn how to make thing.
We went to MOTAT, MOTAT is a place where you can explore the past and learn how to make things. First our class went to explore MOTAT.  When we went to explore we saw old villages. In some of the house there item that they used or a human dummy. We went to the cars section and we saw a Nissan, Silvia which was used for drifting. We got to see the engines of the cars too. Then we went on a ride on the Tram. A tram is a train that runs on the road. The tram took us to the air plane section. In the air plane section we saw planes the were used for war. One of the planes were called the bomber, which droped bombs in the war. We also got see the engines of the planes. After exploring we went to the Mind Lab. In the mind lab we made things. The first thing we made was a electric running car. Our equipment we had to use were tape, scissors, axle, skewer, wheels, motor, propeller and some cardboard. Then we had to make flashlights. The equipment were motor, cog, axle, base, light/ LED.

Persuasive language

LI: to learn what persuasion is.
We had to make a poster about persuasive language. On the poster we had to write how an argument starts, and had to write bias means. I learnt that when you argue you don't have to shout and treat people like people.

Maths

LI: to learn and earn money with maths.
We had to earn money by doing a task. I did, basic fact addition to 20 and I made a game. The game had to be 7 or 10 stages long. We had to put write how you can solve the problem.

Swimming

LI: to learn how to swim.
For our kiwi sport we did swimming. For swimming we did floating on our backs, dive swimming and swimming and turning around while swimming. We first tried floating on our backs without any boards. Then we did the dive swimming, for the dive swimming we had to squeeze our arms tight against our heads and our chins on our chest and paddle with our legs under water. Next we had to swim normally and when we get in the middle we had to turn around.

NZMA Free Lunch

LI: to eat healthy.
We got free lunch from people, from NZMA. For our lunch we had: one roll, fruit salad with yogurt, a samosa and a muffin. There were 15 NZMA students, they all had to make the lunch. I liked the lunch, but my favourite food was the samosa.

Kiwi Can

LI: To learn what the emotions of other people.
For Kiwi Can our theme was resilience and our topic was emotions. We stared Kiwi Can with an activity, our activity was called the silent disco. for our activity, someone had to wear an headphone and the others had to act our an emotion, and the person on the headphone had to guess the emotion. then we finished Kiwi Can with the song. The song went: Kiwi Can says, if you feel it, let it out, don't doubt, just get it all out.

Duffy Theatre

LI: to read lots of books.
We had a Duffy Theatre show. There were three rules when watching the show, they were: when they ask for help you go, when they tell you to be quiet you do it and have fun. The show was talking about how Duffy got stuck in a game called Magic Blocks. My favourite part of the show was when they danced to get back out the game.

Writing

LI: to write a narrative in form of a play.
We had to write a narrative like a play. We had to make a dialogue of the characters in the story talking to each other. We had to talk, as we were in the play.

Commenting

LI: to write a nice comment.
For commenting we had to write a nice comment in other peoples blog.  I wrote a comment on Lukah's Kiwi can blog.

Kiwi Sport

LI: to get fit.
For Kiwi Sport we did Hit. Hit is where you do some exercise and get our heart rate monitor rise and go back down slowly. For our first exercise we did some press ups, mountain climbing and pull ups. For each round it was 30 seconds each. Lastly we had a challenge. The challenge was to do squats to the song Big Sally.

Basic fact

LI: to remember maths basic fact.
For my basic fact challenge I did the speed demon challenge and my time is 5m 5s.

Mixed Problem

LI: to solve word problem of different types.
For maths we had to solve addition and subtraction, multiplication and division, proportions and ratios. We had questions and had to solve them by place value. Then our answer had to be in a sentence. Go to the link to see my presentation video.

Inquiry

LI: to investigate the likelihood of the existing on other planets in our solar system.
We had to do some researching on two planets. We had to search if humans can live other planets in the solar system.

SSR selfie

LI: to summarise and retell a text.
I had to write if my book was a fiction or non-fiction. Then we had to write some facts. One the facts from my is that, earthquakes and volcano eruptions made the countries split apart.

Constellation

LI: to use skimming, scanning and summarising.
For reading we had to make a constellation out of marshmallow and bamboo sticks. We had to make a copy of a slide and put information on our constellation.

Kiwi Can

LI: to recap the learning from the term.
We started Kiwi can with some games. The games were, go home stay home and octopus. This term we learnt about honesty, integrity, reliability and responsibility.

Maori

LI: to state our likes.
For Maori we had to make a poster on what we liked and who. After we did the we had to insert a photo of thing or person.
