Geometree - Summer Learning Journey

LI: to draw a tree that is constructed out of triangles.

Todays Summer Learning Journey task is called the Geometree, for this task we needed to create a tree that was constructed by triangles. First we watched a video about the different types triangles, the first triangle was called Scalene, Isoceles and Equalateral, to find out about these types of triangles. (Click Here)

I first startes by drawing random lines and connecting them and made triangles. The triangles made the tree look geometric. Then I chose to colour in my tree with light colours.

My favourite part of this activity is getting to find a new way of drawing trees.

  1. Kia ora Ong,

It’s Charlotte again, a blog commenter for Manaiakalani. Ka Pai on completing the Geometree, Kick start activity! It is great to see that you have signed up and started the Summer Learning Journey, I am looking forward to seeing more of your posts in the future!

I think that it is very cool how many different types of triangles there are. Can you identify which different types you used in your drawing? (Thank you for including a link, it definitely helped me to identify the different triangles you have used).

I noticed that you choose to decorate your tree with light colours, why is that? The colours you chose remind me of trees in Autumn!

  2. Talofa Ong,

WOW this is a great piece of artwork. From my perspective it looks like an owl and the colours make it look like autumn leaves. What are the difference between each triangle?

Keep up the good work. :)
