LI: to represent Panmure Bridge School in the football interschool.
This week we had football or soccer interschool. I was nervouse, every game was 15 mins. Our first game was against Ruapotaka and we lost, 1-0. We then went against Stonefeilds and we lost, 5-1. The next game didn't happen because the school did not come. Our 4th game was against Sylvia Park school and we drawed 2 all. The last was against our own school, Panmure Bridge and we lost 1-3.
It was fun getting to see how other schools play and getting to make new freinds. My favourite was against our own school because we got to play with our own friends.
LI: to be wise with our money.
We got a visit from ASB who taught us how to be smart with money and make the right decisions with money. The phrase was Stop think and make a good decision... spend or save. To help us learn we played a game in teams, we had $1800 for a trip to Fiji. The factors of the game was: Passport - $200 Economy flight - $500 or first class - $800 Accomodation by the ocean $500 + $100 to cover all meals or budget hotel for $200 Travel insurance for $300 -Yes or No- when using the credit card it has to be paid back in full, we then had the activities which were $100, $200 or $300, and then something bad happened, we got food poisening. Luckly we got covered by insurence. This game helped us learn how to use money wisely.
I enjoyed this because we got to understand how other people in our group uses money.
LI: To use the language features and structure of published poem to help use write our own poem.
LI: To use powerful words to describe a setting so that it paints a clear picture in the mind of the reader
LI: To strengthen connections to technology.
LI: to learn how to make animations with Google presentation.
LI: To find the most efficient strategy to answer the question.
LI: To use your smart searching skills to find out who Sir Isaac Newton was and how his work connects to simple machine.
This week for reading we were given a collaborative task to find out what Sir Isaac Newton had to do with simple machines. We found out Who he is and why his work is important to him. In our DLO we added one simple machine he created called the Pulley. A simple machine is a machine that makes our lives easier.
Something I found interesting about Sir Isaac Newton was that Sir Isaac Newton's mum wanted him to be a farmer but he refused to be a farmer. I found this interesting because I didn't know his mum wanted him to be a farmer.
My favourite part of this activity was being able to work collabrativly because I got to find out their opinions and ideas during this activity.
