Writing

LI: to write a narrative in form of a play.
We had write a play for our narrative writing. We had to make a dialogue with a partner as the character talking about what is going on in the play.

Inquiry

LI: to investigate the likelihood of life existing on the other planets in the Solar system.
We had to make a template for our inquiry and we had to say what planet we were doing and had to write if the planet is the 1st or 2nd and to the 8th from the Sun. We had to write is the planet had water and the main element for life on the planet. We had to write if that planet had oxygen, if it was hot or not, if that planet had enough gravity and if the planet could support human life. Then we had to insert an image for that planet.

What are Decimals?

LI: to add and subtract decimals using place value and checking using written algorithm.
We are learning how to add and subtract decimals using place value and checking using written algorithm. We had to write a poster about what decimals are.

Gymnastics

LI: to learn how to do some gymnastics.
We were learning how to do some gymnastics. We started of with an activity and 3 people were in when they caught someone had to go under us to save us. Then we went back to what we learnt.

Ki O Rahi

LI:to have fun.
Our first game was against Tamaki Primary. On our first game we lost by 3 - 9. Our next game was against Te Poa we beat the by 12 - 4. We played against Te Poa again and lost by 5 - 3. Stan Hope was our next opponent and we won by 13 - 9. Next we went against Saint Patrick school and beat them by 14 - 3. Next won against Stan Hope by 12 - 4.

African Drumming

LI:to learn African drumming.
Johny from the Rhythm Iterative taught us four rhythms on the djembe.
Johny taught us by singing and clapping the rhythms for us to copy. One of the call and return tunes was " I like chocolate cake"," so do I".
Johny thought us a message to the children. The message was that " together, we make a change".
After teaching us by clapping we had to do the rhythm on the drums. My favourite rhythm was " I like drums, I like drums, I like drums, drums, drums".

Writing

LI: to write a narrative in form of a play.
We are learning how to write a narrative as a play. We had to write a narrative and go on a fake message site with a partner and text to each other on one device and talk about the play as the character.








Zoo trip

LI: to learn about the zoo animals.
When we went to the zoo we went to the African animals. Out of all the animals in the zoo we saw the giraffes, zebras and ostriches. We learnt that the giraffes have sun proof tongues.
 

Reading

LI:to skim and scan.
We are learning to skim and scan. We had to find information and write in our prior knowledge.

Hiwi the kiwi fishing for the future

LI: to be responsible in the sea and when fishing.
Form the Hiwi the kiwi show we learnt that when you go fishing you only can take home a legal sized fish, life jacket safety, what we have to do when we see plastic rubbish, how to save the sea birds, when fishing in salt water always take salt ice and a wet towel. While the show we listened to The Minstrel, sang songs, did challenges and answered questions.

SSR Selfie

LI: to explain my story.
We had books form the library and we had to explain what our book was about.

Kiwi Sport

LI: to develop body movement of balance, rotation and strength.
We stared of gymnastic with some stretches. Our stretches were an L shape, butterfly and straddle. Then we got into our rotations. For rotation 1  we had the beam  and had to jump on it and we had to do the forward roll on the bench. For rotation 2 we had the trampoline to do a dive roll, the backwards roll, scorpion handstand and the 180' jump. Rotation 3 we had the handstands, front support, parallel bars and the back/side/front support. My most difficult activity was the parallel bars.

Reading / Table mat information

LI: to skim and scan.
We are learning to skim and scan. We had a non-fiction book and we had to gather information.

Attribute

LI: to attribute Images using our knowledge of copyright and fair use laws, to credit is due.
We are learning how to attribute. To attribute you have to find an image, look for who made the photo.

Kiwi Can

LI: doing things with out being asked.
For Kiwi Can our topic was responsibility and our theme was integrity. For our catch phrase it was: Kiwi Can says: Responsible is what I am, and that's the way of kiwi can. Next we spoke as a group  about what the different responsibilities we have to define what being responsibility is. Our activity was: writing down our goals for this term.

Why it rains

LI: learning how to write an explanation.
An explanation is talking about how something works or why. In an explanation you need a title, intro, meaning, visual explanation (photos).

Maori

For Maori we were learning about the legends of stars. We were thought that a star would give us a warning if it is going to be hot or cold. It would give us a bright shine as the warning. I made a poster the weathers (Huarere). We had to write the type of weather in English and Maori, and insert an image.
