Commenting

LI: to write positive comments.
I wrote on Sasukesblog-post. He was blogging about his players positions. On my comment I said what i learnt from his blog-post and what he needed to improve on.

Kiwi Sport

LI: To learn how to stay safe in the water.
We had our last swimming session. Our instructors were James, Livy and Maddy. For our last swimming session we had to wear a life jacket. Then we had to do the safe entry in the swimming pool. When we got in the pool we had to grab each others life jackets to make a chain.

Next we learnt how to keep our self warm while being in the water. To keep our self warm we had to make a huddle together and the smallest person in the huddle has to get in the middle to keep them warm. If your alone and don't know how to keep warm in the water you have to, get your knees to your chest and if you're moving around, spreed your knees a little bit to stay stable.

 Lastly we did the pencil dive entry. For the pencil entry we had to cover the back of our head with one hand and the other hand has to be on our shoulder. Then we had to drop in the water. The instructors told us to stand up on the side of the pool. After that we had to jump off the side and jump off to high five the instructors. After we jumped off we had to leave the pool to shower  with the life jackets on. After showering we had to take off the life jacket to go back to school.

Basic Fact

LI: to remember basic maths fact.
I did the speed demon challenge and I did it up to 5. I did the addition up to 5. My time was 5 min 59 sec.

World Time

L.I-To learn about the time in different countries.
For this task we had to find the time in different countries when it was 6pm in Japan. An example we had to find time for Canada. The time in USA CA: 2am and NY: 5am. This helps by learning different time in other countries.
I learned from this task that there are different times for the west side and the north side of some countries. Why there are different time in the west or the north because those countries  are  bigger.

Rugby profile and Performance

L.I To learn about rugby players profile.
We had to write one of the all black rugby stars profile. We picked  Kieran Read. We wrote new information and new understanding that you might not know about  Kieran Read for example Kieran Read's height is 1.93 metres.
This activity helped me learn new things and new facts about Kieran read. We found out his position, height and country.


Rube Goldberg machine

LI: to try make a Rube Goldberg machine with all the six simple machines.
We had to try make a Rube Goldberg machine with the simple six machines. A Rube Goldberg machine is a complicated machine to do a simple thing. It took us 2 tries to get every thing working. I was the person working with the wheel and axle. We used a incline plain, wheel and axle and a lever.

To create our machine we used a chair and some wood to make the incline plane. We used a car and a book to start our machine. Then someone tips the book, the book hits the car and the car comes down the incline plain, as soon as it gets to the bottom it's going to the person at the bottom of a table. The person at the bottom of the table is going to roll the ball in his hand. The ball then rolls and hits the person standing in front of the table. The person in front of the table is going to roll the basketball then the basketball comes down hits the person next to him. The when the basketball hit the person next to him, the person next to him slides under the table and hits the person that is at the finish. The person at the finish is going to roll the ball down the incline plain and the ball hits the cup with the dice in it.

The thing I found challenging was trying to get everything working. I would change people being under the table.

5 different places to visit in Japan

L.I To find 5 different places to visit.
My Group(Ong,Bella J,Sepleman and me)Picked 5 different places in Japan the 5 different places were  Mt Fuji,Tokyo,Nara and Osaka. We had to write facts and why we want to vist that place as example if I got 1000$ and I want to go to Mt Fuji I can explain why I want to visit Mt Fuji and give some Interspersing facts that will hook my mum  to make go to Mt Fuji.

Maths | Time past and future

L.I To learn the past and future.
For this task we had to find out the year that different rugby world cups will be, as a example the 20th rugby world cup is 2059. We also had to write how old we are going to be during that year.In 2059 I will be 50 years old . This helps me by knowing what year the rugby world cup will be. I also learned that there are four years between rugby world cups.This helps me because I added four to each year to get the answer.


Writing | Rugby events

LI: to apply inquiry, literacy and numeracy skills to learn about the RWC.
For this task we had to write down the day of the RWC, the event, and the memories of the RWC. The picture shows the All Blacks winning the RWC. As you can see the All Blacks won 3 RWC.

We had to put together the players and the position of the player. This teaches us about the rugby world cup.

Basic Fact

LI: To remember basic fact maths.
For my basic fact I did the speed demon challenge. I did addition and my time for the speed demon challenge was 5 minute and 35 second.

Print Advertisement

LI:To Create an advert using the knowledge and skills we have learnt.
For writing we are doing advertisements. We had to do an advertisement on the thneed from the Lorax movie.


Swimming | Kiwisport

LI: to learn how to swim.
We started swimming with the the rotation. For the rotation we had to swim straight and when we get half way we have to turn on our back to breath. Then we had to float on our back. Lastly we had to practice swimming through the waves. We mad the waves with the boards.

LI:to understand faulty reasoning.
Faulty reasoning is arguing or talking with someone but the facts or statistics on something that makes sense or isn't true. There are five different types of faulty reasoning. We had to fill in google draws for different types of faulty reasoning. We had to write the definition of the faulty reasoning. 

Kiwi Can

LI: to cope with challenges.
We learnt how to face our challenges and experience / attempt them.
We looked at 3 different types of challenges and wrote about our feelings when we face those challenges. We figured out coping strategies in groups  of three.

This piece of art is 3D shapes shading. The shapes that were used in the art were cylinder, sphere, cone, cube and the pyramid. The area is 1334cm2. The height is 20cm and the width is 66.7cm.

My book is called Middle school ultimate showdown. My book is a fiction. A fiction book is a book that is not real. The author is the James Patterson, the illustrator of the book is Julia Bergen. The main characters of the book is Georgia and Rafe.

For maths we are doing measuring. We have to measure our art so we can put the art on the wall. My art is 3d shapes shading. The height of my art is 20cm and the width is 66cm.

Kiwi Sport

LI: to learn new skills in swimming.
For swimming we are learning new skills and the safety in water. For swimming we did some freestyle. When we swim we have to put our chin on our chest.

Advertising 3.0

LI: to learn about persuasive tool and advertising.
We are learning about advertising. First we had find 3 NZ celebrity endorsements for 3 thing, one thing has to be a clothing, a food and a technology. Then we had to watch a car safety ad. After watching the car safety we had to write who the ad was made by, what is the purpose of the message was, the techniques they used to attract the reader, the point of view that is represented in the message, what information or point of view.

Reading

LI: to separate fact from opinion.
We are learning how to separate fact from opinion. We had to read an artical and  do the synthesis. Our artical is called Pointless, painful, physical education. For the synthesis we had to write what we know. Then after reading the artical we had to write what we learned. After doing the synthesis we had to do the QAR. QAR stands for Question, Answer, Response. Right There means the answer is right there in the text. Think and search means the answer is in the text but you will have to look in different places to find the answer. Author and you means the author is the person that gives you hints if the answer isn't in the text. On my own is when you have to figure out the answer by your self.

Jamie Wall | Duffy

LI: to read and learn.
Jamie Wall came to our school and told us about his job and how he got it. He said that he got his job by reading. He work for, Maori tv, Radio nz, Newshub and StuFF. Jamie Wall likes reading a book called Men in Black. Then he decided to write his own book. His book is called Brothers in Black. Jamie Wall writes about the All Black, Warriors, UFC, Boxing, Cricket, Super rugby and Fifa WC. He has travelled to Japan, Italy, Argentina, France, England, Ireland and Australia. He travels around the world with the All Blacks and the Warriors.
I like his job because he gets to see famous rugby players and because he gets to travel the world.

Reading | Stop this horrendous crime

LI: to separate fact from opinion.
We are learning how to separate fact from opinion. We had to read an artical and  do the synthesis. Our artical is called Stop this horrendous crime. For the synthesis we had to write what we know. Advertising 2.0 | Writing

LI: to learn about persuasive tool and advertising.
We are learning about advertising and how they made it looking so good on the t.v and why it's so bad when they serve it. What we did first in writing was we had to find slogans. Then we watched how they make it look so good. Lastly we had to do a slogan for our school.

Maths

LI:to measure length and calculate perimeter and area.
We are learning how to measure. Area is the space inside of something, and perimeter is the outside of something. For maths we are doing art. our art has to be based on maths. For my art I did 3D shading.

Screw | Inquiry

LI: to learn and create a screw.
We are learning how a screw works. We did an experiment with a stick, pipe and a bucket full of water and some tape. The way the screw works is by wrapping the pipe around the sick.
 As you spin your stick the water will go into the pipe.

Wheel and Axle | Cybersmart

LI: to apply the print design rules.
We are learning how to apply the print design rules. We had to pick a poster from our inquiry and fix the poster. We add the print design rules on the poster. The print design rules are: Composition, layout colour and text. Composition is about the elements that go on the poster or media. Layout means everything has to be aligned. Colour means the background has to be understanding or the colour has to be appealing. Lastly the text, for the text you have to think about your font styles, sizes and colours. The colour of the text has to be visible.

Kiwi Can

LI: to learn to deal with challenges.
Dealing with challenges means, dealing with difficult challenges and not just difficult challenges it also means for example, having a race.

We started off Kiwi Can with our energiser. Our energiser is called the Challenge Circle. We had some instructions. The instructions is when Kiwi Can says jump in you have to jump in and when she says jump out you jump out. Then she might look up or look down, she might say turn around or touch the ground. Next we had the activity. For our activity we did a puzzle we had to make a cross out of the puzzle.
